About Charlie

Charlie Bereal was born and raised in Pasadena, California; he is a soulful wonder. He taught himself how to play guitar at age nine, and he grew up playing music in his grandfather’s church. He went into the professional music arena at the age of 16 with his brother Kenneth Bereal. Since then, he has been all around the world; he became one of the most sought after touring guitar players in the entertainment industry.

Charlie has fluent abilities in multiple genres which include Hip- hop, R&B, R&B Soul, Alternative, Gospel, Pop, Urban Adult Contemporary, Soul, Neo-Soul, and Rock. But the truth is that Charlie can do it all. What sets Charlie apart from other musicians is that he does not merely play an instrument; Charlie is an instrument! As speaking is to the common man, so is music to Charlie Bereal; it is not something he does; music is who he is.

He was also the lead guitarist and vocalist for the Grammy nominated and Stellar award winning gospel quartet: The Soul Seekers. He represented a new breed of young musicians able to bless the world with love, hope, and healing by honestly sharing their energy and creativity. In Charlie’s world, anything is possible.

Here we have it. Charlie Bereal the child prodigy, self-taught Musician, multi-platinum selling producer, writer, singer, multi instrumentalist, Grammy nominee, and soon to be legend. And that’s keeping it honest.

His fingers have laced guitar melodies on some classic songs such as More Than a Woman by Aaliyah, One Minute Man by Missy Elliott, Call Me I'll Be Around by Cee-Lo, Love is Like Whoa by Mýa, and Do What it Do by Jamie Foxx to name a few. Charlie has accompanied almost every chart-topping act in the music industry. Some of his credits include, Jay Z, Ja Rule, P Diddy, Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Ashanti, Brandy, Mario, Tweet, Missy Elliott, Toni Braxton, Mary Mary, and the list goes on and on. Charlie has also appeared on numerous television and award shows such as The Tonight Show, Mad TV, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen DeGeneres, BET’s Pepsi Smash, the ESPY Awards, the Soul Train Music Awards, the Lady Of Soul Awards, Grammy Awards, and the list continues with too many to name.

Now he is an independent artist with fans from all around the world, and he is sponsored by ESP Guitar Co. and Fender; his most popular song is “Walk The Streets of Love”: a refreshing and upbeat, soulful blast from the past. Charlie comes from a long family line of producers, writers, singers, and musicians, so it seems his gift comes naturally, but he sums things up best when he says, “As far as my music, I love all types of music. I love epic sounding music and you can hear that in my work. I love soul, and I love honesty in music, and that’s what my music is.”
